Tikrit news

Reading my post about the Moslawi news, one of my neighbor told me this.

"In Tikrit in an attempt to prevent the suicidal car bombs, the authorities there , issues an instructions preventing any car in the city holding less than two passengers from being move around. The driver and additional passenger are the minimum, to be roaming in the city."

It is another strange and brand new news.

This rule (at least 2 people required in all cars driven in Tikrit) is an example of loss of freedom traded for gain in security (real or imaginary). Similar things are happening in the USA although not as extreme - very inconvenient waits at airports in the name of security, travel over certain roads restricted, restrictions on how things can be sent through the mail, all in the name of improved security. The choice is inconvenient rules or inconvenient violence. The cause is the willingness of bad people to use violence.
